New Bhoy Scott Allan played 20 minutes in Celtic’s comfortable 3-1 win over Dundee at Tannadice this afternoon and impressed fans with his display.
The midfielder had a chance to score after being on the pitch for a matter of seconds and was glad to receive a warm reception from Celtic fans.
As reported by the Daily Record, speaking to BTSport at full time, the Scot said:
“I was delighted to get on the park and show the fans what I can do. After all the speculation, I was just dying to get out on the pitch and it’s a great result for the boys.
“I got an unbelievable reception from the supporters. I said when I came on the park last week that they were a different class, it was great today and I am looking forward to playing in front of them again.
“It’s going to be tough for me to get into the team,” Allan added, “but I have to have confidence in my own ability and hopefully I get better, day in, day out, working with quality players here.
“The manager has told me that this is the place for the next level of my development and that he is the guy to take me forward. I’ve loved every minute of working with him so far.”
Celtic took a two-goal lead thanks to the formidable Leigh Griffiths who ran in behind the defence and rounded the ‘keeper and slotted the ball into the net. An own goal just before half-time to give Celtic a 2-0 lead, which was warranted given the pressure they put the Terrors under in the first-half. A penalty moment’s later ‘irritated’ manager Ronny Deila, but Callum Mc Gregor’s deflected shot restored their two-goal advantage.
Celtic made nine changes in total for today’s game, all those who played showed professionalism and many of the youth and fringe players put on a good display.
