For some of these players, I see the fans mention their names time and time again, with the number of expletives used increasing each time. Some players have you pulling your hair out, chucking your remote at your TV or cursing the manager for putting him on the pitch in the first place.
Here’s a list of some of the most frustrating players currently donning the Hoops jersey.
Emilio Izaguirre

The whole reason why he frustrates me is his inconsistency. Izzy can have a game where he absolutely dominates, he flies up and down the wing, beating players whenever he wants and creating chances left and right. However, he can also have a game (and there have been many lately) were his defending is lacklustre, he loses the ball time and time again from trying to take on every player, with terrible crossing to match. Emilio has got a lot of time at Celtic so this inconsistency is becoming more and more of an issue, I hope he can recover his form because I think there is a great player in there trying to get out.
James Forrest

Forrest is perhaps unfairly in this list, but I’ll explain why as every club seems to have a player like this. A youngster with lots of potential, but after every run of games, they get injured. I am not criticizing Forrest whatsoever, I love how he plays the game but when your knees appear to be made of damp tissue paper, it can be very frustrating as a fan. He has spent around 550 days on the sidelines in the last four years due to various knee and groin injuries, which has really stifled his progression. I just hope he can return to his best and have a consistent season of playtime.
Efe Ambrose

Finally, we will end with the man, the myth, the defender with the defensive ability of a striker – Efe Ambrose. When you look at the archetype defender, you want consistency, reliability and a good understanding of defensive positioning – Ambrose has none of this. He will regularly be caught out of position and dander back when it suits him. Occasionally, he’ll receive some divine thought and decide to try and run the entire pitch and the most frustrating bit is that sometimes he actually beats these players, then he’ll try to finish and give a nice souvenir to any supporters up in row Z. When Ambrose is on the ball I feel like the rest of the team must be praying that he’ll just get rid of it as soon as possible, he will often gift the opponents possession in a dodgy area. I have yet to meet a Celtic fan who finds Efe’s style of play acceptable, or even bearable. However, he has become a sort of comical figure, with his somersault celebrations and chants of “Efe Ambrose! Efe Ambrose! Efe Ambrose Ballon d’Or!”
Do you think whingeing and complaining about Efe is going to make him a better player..? If he reads stuff like this is that going to give him confidence in the support and consequently help him play better..? If you truly support the famous Glasgow Celtic then hush up and have faith in the manager…you are probably one of those who wanted rid of Ronnie a year ago.
Be still my pounding Celtic heart…!!
