Ronny Deila believes are fine defensively despite conceding 10 goals in their last six games.
The Norwegian was speaking in his first press conference after the international break and ahead of this weekend’s trip to Pittodrie.
Celtic’s last clean sheet was on August 9th against Partick Thistle away in a 2-0. Although manager Ronny Deila is happy with his defence despite conceding so many goals of late.
Deila spoke to the media at Lennoxtown and is feeling positive ahead of the upcoming games domestically and in Europe.
As quoted by Celtic’s official Twitter account the manager said:
It was a good break. We have been training well and had some rest so we’re ready to go again.
Lately we’ve conceded too much, but we have been good defensively for a long time.
Speaking about the trip to face unbeaten Aberdeen, Deila knows it’s just another game.
Nothing will be finished by Saturday, but the team that wins will put themselves into a better position.
We always go into every game to win and we want to go up to Aberdeen and get three points.
When asked about last season’s games, Deila drew confidence from the four wins over Celtic’s main rivals for the title.
The first game we were a little bit lucky but the other games we deserved to win.
Ronny was also happy to see the transfer window close so he can start concentrating on matters on the field.
Now it’ll be good to stop talking about transfers for a while and know what group we are working with.
I’m very happy now. We made some very good signings and got a lot of good prospects.
