After the disappointing 0-0 draw at home on Saturday, Mikael Lustig is all in for Celtic signing free agent Carlton Cole.
Celtic wasted a plethora of chances in the game, having 24 shots in total but managing just five shots on target as Hearts defended resolutely and came away with a point.
Lustig trained with Carlton Cole at Lennoxtown this week and saw first hand what the experienced striker can bring to Celtic, as quoted by the Daily Express.
He’s experienced and he looks very good in the box.
He’s done really well down south and he brings us something that we don’t have right now.
He’s a box player and is maybe stronger in the air. You always want new additions that can make the playing squad better.
A 31, Carlton Cole would add another dimension to the Hoops attacking game, something they could have done with on Saturday in the closing stages of the game.
If we do sign Carlton, then it’s not going to make us worse – we will be better.
The Jambos could have spoiled the afternoon completely only for Efe Ambrose to come to the rescue and professionally foul Sam Nicholson in the dying seconds.
His fellow defender, Lustig saw plenty of positives in the game, which they can take into Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Fenerbahce.
We did a lot of things well and we just need to take them into the match with Fenerbahce.
We played good football but you would rather play badly and get the three points.
