Two sloppy moments in defence by Efe Ambrose cost Celtic three points tonight as they couldn’t find a third goal in the second-half.
It means Celtic now have two points from their opening two games and sit in second place level on points with Ajax and two points off Molde, who top the group.
An exhilarating first-half for Celtic seen them take a two-goal lead, but an error from Efe Ambrose gave Fernbahce hope going into half-time.
Kris Commons put in a corner that Lustig flicked on to Griffiths at the back post who finished on the second attempt.
Commons added Celtic’s second goal just four minutes later firing the ball into the roof of the net from Forrest’s cross. The winger caused problems all night down the flank and beat two men before picking out Commons inside the box.
Ambrose was again at fault for the second goal after switching off from a corner and beaten to the ball at the front post by Fernandao who headed home to level the score at 2-2.
Both teams had chances, but it will be the away side who will be the happier of the two after tonight’s result.
Celtic Park is without doubt the best atmosphere in world football, exhilarating.
