Celtic captain Scott Brown is considering his international future after the disappointment of failing to qualify for yet another major tournament.
Brown was part of the team a last minute goal on Thursday night to Poland’s Robert Lewandowski – sealing their fate in this year’s Euro 2016 qualifiers.
He is now thought to be considering his international future according to the Daily Mail and has had informal discussions with senior figures at Celtic and the SFA.
After the 2-2 draw with Poland, Brown said:
Yeah it’s hard on everyone’s body. There’s a lot of games and not a lot of holidays for us. We’ll see where that goes when it comes around.
The 30-year-old Hoops captain made his competitive debut for Scotland in March 2007, coming off the substitutes bench against Georgia.
The loss on Thursday left the Scots six points off Ireland in third, who beat Germany 1-0, meaning the wait goes on for an appearance in a major international tournament. Scotland’s last appearance in a major tournament was the World Cup in 1998.
