Celtic youngster Aidan Nesbitt was on the scoresheet last night, hours after signing a new deal until 2019.
Yesterday afternoon, news of the three-and-a-half year deal was confirmed by Celtic on their official website.
Last night, the Scottish striker was back on the field and scored yet another goal against HJK Helsinki, adding to his hat-trick in the first-leg.
The young Hoops progressed to the second round of the qualifiers for the UEFA Youth League with a comprehensive 6-1 aggregate score.
Nesbitt made his debut in the closing minutes of Celtic’s 2-0 victory against Raith Rovers in the League Cup and says that the time he has spent with Celtic has taught him much about football.
Since I joined at the age of eight, I’ve learned so much about football and so much about myself, and hopefully I’m here for another 10 years learning more along the way.
Playing for the development squad, the youngster has been catching the eye of first-team manager Ronny Deila leading to him making a substitute appearance against Raith Rovers.
I was delighted and it might only have been five minutes but it’s something that I’ve been working towards my whole life. It was absolutely incredible for me and I hope I can get as many minutes and games as I can.
Celtic’s next game is a trip to Molde in the Europa League on Thursday night, where Deila and his fellow Norwegian Stefan Johansen return to face their old foes and acquaintances.
