Ryan Christie signed for Celtic back in September and is already preparing for his return to the club.
Whether it will be in January or next summer, the 20-year-old is doing everything he can to make sure he is ready for the challenge at Celtic when he joins the squad at Lennoxtown.
Christie made the move to Celtic from Inverness Caley Thistle for a fee of around £400,000 and the Scotland Under-21 international moved back on loan for the season, with an option to be recalled in January.
He is happy to continue playing for Inverness but has also begun preparing for the day he takes to the field in a Hoops shirt.
As quoted by the Press and Journal, he said:
I’m happy either way. If I go down after Christmas, then great, but everyone has been saying to me it will do no harm for me to stay here in Inverness for another full season of first team football.
I’ve had no word as to when they might want me to go down. I’ll just have to wait and see.
Although he is still playing for Caley Thistle, his preparations off the field for becoming a Celtic player permanently have already begun.
I would always watch Celtic’s matches anyway, being a supporter, but I’m now keen to watch them to study the way they play.
I can learn from how they play and the formations they use, so that when I do go down I’m ready. They always like get the ball down on the ground and that suits me.
I don’t think there is anyone at Celtic who doesn’t know how to do that. That’s Celtic’s tradition and I hope it will suit me.
