Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths guided Celtic past Hearts and into the Scottish League Cup semi-final.
Deila’s decision to bring on Rogic changed the game as the Aussie lifted a lethargic team and increased the tempo, with the opening goal coming from Griffiths after some dazzling footwork inside the box.
Griffiths turned provider as he drove down the right wing and found Rogic inside the box who had the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.
Celtic missed captain Scott Brown as the Hoops were slow on the ball and lacked any real intensity in the opening 45 minutes.
The first half came and went as Hearts sat back and absorbed the pressure from Celtic.
There were very few chances in opening period, with the best chance falling to Stuart Armstrong, but he couldn’t connect with the ball from eight-yards out.
Hearts had very few chances in the game but found the net from a corner kick after a free header in the closing minutes.
Celtic must be some team when they can beat the Mighty Hearts away and operate at only 60%. Well according to this guy anyway.
