After a poor first half performance from Celtic, Tom Rogic turned the game on its head in the second half, leaving manager Ronny Deila with a headache ahead of this weekend.
The Aussie came on for James Forrest – who, having just returned from a knock, probably shouldn’t have started, following Brown’s withdrawal. Regardless, Deila seen a substitution was necessary and did so after 59 minutes, giving the 22-year-old a chance.
And he took that chance as he injected new life into the Celtic side who looked completely different to the one that took the field in opening 45 minutes. They won contested headers, got to the second ball and passed on a much higher level.
In the middle of all this was Tom Rogic, dictating the play from the number 10 role and bringing others into play.
The only problem now is who starts on Saturday and next Thursday. If Brown is deemed fit enough, which two players start in the holding role and who will be the number 10. Kris Commons tried and failed in that role last night, and seems more effective coming in off the wing.
Stefan Johansen impressed me once again in the defensive role alongside Bitton whose performances have slumped in recent times. It will be a big call for Deila, who tends to favour his fellow Norwegian, but will it be at the expense of Bitton, Rogic or even Commons?
Speaking to the media after the game, as per the Daily Mail, Deila spoke about Rogic’s performance after being introduced:
But Tom Rogic came on and added tempo into the game. Then we got our chances. Leigh is sniffing around and waiting for those chances. Today he scored one and made one.
So, the question is, who will start on Saturday? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @ReadCeltic who you think should line-up against Aberdeen.
