Deila admits Brown could miss Molde clash

Celtic recorded another convincing win, this time against their ‘main challengers’ Aberdeen, but there is doubt ahead of Thursday.

The Hoops ripped the skin of the sheep and tore their defence apart as they could have scored five or six in the game only for some last ditch defending and good goalkeeping.

Youngster Kieran Tierney put on another stellar performance and assisted Leigh Griffiths for the opening goal of the game. The goal itself was a well-taken header by Griffiths, who rose above two defenders and found the bottom corner.

He doubled his tally and Celtic’s in the game from the penalty spot, after Kris Commons was hacked down just on the edge of the box.

And the three points were secured when James Forrest chipped the ball beyond the Dons ‘keeper and into the net.

Tom Rogic also followed up his impressive cameo performance on Wednesday with a great attacking display after the opening goal.

Speaking on the performance after the game, as per Celtic’s official twitter account, Deila said:

We showed we were the best team and now seven points clear.

I’m very happy man and proud. Played nine games in quick succession. We performed well for 90 minutes and should have scored more.

I’m so pleased with the players. I don’t want to look at the title at all. I’m thinking of the next game as so much can happen.

On Leigh Griffiths performance he said:

He smells danger all the time, he senses when things are happening and he’s a great finisher.

Only thing I was angry about him today was that he didn’t play Stuart Armstrong in and shot from 18 yards.

He’s getting more and more mature. He can still lack concentration at times.

However, captain Scott Brown is a doubt for the game on Thursday night against Molde as he recovers from a knee injury he sustained during Wednesday night’s warm-up against Hearts.

When asked for an update on his injury and whether the 30-year-old could play on Thursday, he said:

I don’t think so, but the injury isn’t major. He might be better after international break.

You always want Scott Brown in your team, but Stefan (Johansen) is one of the best players for Norway & I have Nir (Bitton) who plays for Israel.
