Player ratings: Celtic 3-1 Aberdeen (H)

Two goals from Leigh Griffiths and another from James Forrest gave Celtic a comfortable win at Paradise today.

The Hoops traded blows with Aberdeen early on and it could have been 2-2 at half-time with the chances at both ends. Adam Rooney had one brilliant chance to score and two decent efforts on goal, but none hit the back of the net.

Instead, Leigh Griffiths gave Celtic the lead after a stunning cross from Kieran Tierney found the head of the in-form striker.

And the Scot doubled Celtic’s lead from the penalty spot after Kris Commons was hacked down inside the area.

James Forrest added a third after a great run from Tom Rogic who slipped the ball into the winger and he chipped the ball past the Dons ‘keeper.

Rooney finally scored for the Dons, but it was too little to0 late for them, as Celtic strolled to victory.
