Griffiths urges fans to get behind Celtic

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has called for Celtic fans to get behind the team when Molde visit Paradise on Thursday.

The Hoops have had a poor Europa League campaign so far, with only two points from three games so far, coming from draws against Fenerbahce and Ajax. In their last game, they lost 3-1 against Molde and will be hoping to get some revenge this Thursday.

For Ronny Deila and Stefan Johansen, they will need to prove the move to Celtic was the right one, instead of staying in Norway.

Griffiths, who is the top scorer in the league at the moment and has 16 goals this season in all competitions, has called for the fans to help to team to make Celtic Park a difficult place for Molde to play.

Hopefully we will get the fans behind us on Thursday night and make it an intimidating atmosphere for Molde.

We know they are a good side but if we play at our best we know we are capable of winning the game.

The Scotland striker also believes that if Celtic perform like they did last time out in their 3-1 win against Aberdeen, they can take three points against the Norwegian champions.

We didn’t play anywhere near our best against them [last time] but, if we play on Thursday like we did against Aberdeen, we have a great chance.

Celtic are top of the table, six points clear of second-placed Hearts, and with only one defeat all season. After yesterday’s win, the title race could be over already.
