James Forrest has praised his fellow team-mate Tom Rogic on the revival of his Celtic career and how he has responded to the difficulty he faced over the last few years.
The winger has dealt with his own problems over the years, suffering from injuries. Forrest also knows how the Aussie must feel to be in and out of the squad and unable to stamp his authority on the team on a consistent basis.
Because the 24-year-old has been in a similar position as Rogic, he can sympathise with him and hailed his most recent performance against Aberdeen on Saturday, as per the Glasgow Evening Times.
After the 3-1 win on Saturday, Forrest gave plenty of praise to the 22-year-old for his performance:
I was delighted to score. It was a good run by Tom (Rogic). He held onto the ball really well and played it at the right time. It was a good assist from him.
Since arriving at Celtic from the Central Coast Mariners in 2013, Rogic has had brief spells in the team but struggled to hold down a place in the team as he was loaned out to Melbourne Victory. That turned out to be a disaster move as a recurring groin injury kept him on the sidelines.
It wasn’t until the start of this season that he started showing what was expected of him, scoring against Partick Thistle in his first appearance in over two years for the Hoops. His recent form has been much more impressive, with his improvisation and creativity the focal point.
Over the coming months he could be set to have a bigger impact in the team, and he could very well become a fan favourite if he continues to impress them.
