Scott Brown has been the Celtic captain during some of their best memories in recent history both domestically and in Europe.
He now believes it’s time for the players to deliver a performance in the latter – for Ronny Deila
Celtic were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at Paradise yesterday, and that frustration was also felt in the stands by fans ahead of Ajax’s visit.
The Scotland international midfielder has comes out and defended Deila, saying the players need to perform.
Deila has found himself under lots of pressure after failing to qualify for the Champions League in successive years after losing to Malmo.
His Celtic side have also put themselves in a tricky position, having taken just two points from four group stage games in the Europa League.
Back-to-back losses against Molde have seen Deila come under a wave of criticism from fans and they have grown tired with his style of play and tactics.

Brown, 32, however, believes it is up to those that are on the field – not the manager to put in a performance and get a result.
Defending the Norwegian, Brown is quoted by the Scotsman saying:
It’s make or break. If we don’t win we don’t go through, simple as that and we’ll only have ourselves to blame, [the players] that are on the park.
Celtic have claimed just two points in Group A of the Europa League, in draws against Ajax away and Fenerbahce at Paradise.
The Hoops captain feels the pressure put on Deila is unfair. When he was asked was the criticism unfair, this is what he had to say.
Definitely, because he’s not on the park. We’re the ones on the park. We’re the ones that should take the blame.
He can only tell us what to do and show us what to do in training. We have to perform on the park and we didn’t do that in the two games against Molde.
