Player ratings: Celtic 1-2 Ajax (H)

Eighteen-year-old Vaclav Cerny stole the headlines as he came off the bench to send Celtic out of the competition at the group stages.

Celtic stunned the visitors and took the lead after just three minutes through Callum McGregor.

The youngster was given just his first start this season for Celtic and repaid Ronny Deila by curling a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Deila’s men were left to rue their mistakes again at the back as the goalscorer McGregor conceded possession and the resulting Ajax attack led to a goal.

Craig Gordon did well to save the first effort, but could do nothing about the follow-up which Arkadiusz Milik finished off after battling with Dedryck Boyata on the goal-line.

Both teams had chances and looked suspect in defence, but it was Celtic who were caught out again at the back.
