Celtic rubbish claims about Bitton’s future at the club

Celtic have hit back about the reports that Nir Bitton’s agent has  said that the midfielder will leave in the summer.

This comes after he reportedly said on Sports 5 that his client will leave Celtic in the summer for a Premier League club.

The midfielder signed a new five-year deal with Celtic and the club have hit back at the claims made in this morning’s papers.

Earlier on, they released the following statement.

We were delighted to agree a new contract recently with Nir and very pleased that he has committed his long-term future to Celtic.

We know nothing about these reports but as Nir himself has said, Celtic is where he wants to be.

His agent, Dudu Dahan also commented on the matter, and said:

These reports are not correct, I have never said that Nir will leave Celtic.

Nir has signed a new contract with Celtic and appreciates everything he has at Celtic. He loves the club and wants to be at Celtic for a very long time.

Bitton joined Celtic in 2013 from FC Ashdod for a fee worth around £700,000.

During his time in a Hoops shirt so far, Bitton has won two league titles and the Scottish League Cup, and will be hoping Celtic can complete the domestic treble for the first time since 2001.

The 24-year-old has made 60 appearances thus far for Celtic, scoring some stunning goals in his time including one earlier this season against Kilmarnock.
