It will come as no surprise to Celtic fans, but Derk Boerrigter could finally be leaving the club.
The 29-year-old arrived in July 2013 for a fee of around £1 million and made 23 appearances, scoring just once in a 3-1 win against Aberdeen.
His last appearance came in August 2014 and his last start was also last year, in a 3-3 draw against St Johnstone and was replaced at half-time.
Injuries hampered his time at Celtic but since he has got fit Deila hasn’t seen where he fits into his current or future plans for the team.
As quoted by the Scotsman, Deila said:
In the beginning he was injured for almost a year. Now, he hasn’t been injured. He’s in training. We have to pick a squad and we felt that we had other players that were better than him.

Ronny Deila offered Anthony Stokes another club to revive his future at the club despite various episodes off the field and a questionable attitude at times.
However his act of kindness didn’t extend to Boerrigter, and Deila now believes it’s time for the Dutchman to move on.
I think it’s good for him to start playing games somewhere. He’s a good football player but he hasn’t reached it here. We’ll see if something happens in this window.
I think this has gone so far now that it is good for him and good for everybody that he tries to find a place to play because he is not a youngster. He is a guy who should be a good age to play football.
The lack of football could make it almost impossible for Celtic to offload him, so maybe a termination of his contract would be the best option.
