As Kristoffer Ajer continues his week-long trial at Celtic, Ronny Deila is also set to take Darragh Markey to the club for the weekend on trial.
According to Herald Scotland, the 18-year-old midfielder will play in a non-competitive game on Sunday as part of a training exercise to monitor him.
It is thought that his current club, St. Pat’s Athletic have given him permission to travel to Scotland to take part in the game with Celtic.
Markey has been drawing interest from a number of Premier League clubs who have already been scouting him and keeping a close eye on his development.
Celtic have always been looking for the next Irish talent to bring through their ranks and into the first-team and Markey is no exception.
Youth players like Fiacre Kelleher and Eoghan O’Connell, who returned to action for the first time in four months after an injury while on loan at Oldham are currently being developed to play for the Celtic first-team – and Markey could join them in the near future if he impresses.
