Efe Ambrose has said that he is unaware of any interest from Shanghai SIPG, despite recent reports of a move away from Celtic.
Ambrose has been rumoured with a move away after having a troubled season this campaign, which included some sloppy defending in the Europa League and lapses in concentration at times in the league.
Due to his unpredictable playing style, it is thought that if Celtic were to make a move for a defender in this transfer window, Ambrose may be the one to make way.
However, the Nigerian international recently said:
I don’t know anything about the reported interest from the Chinese club. My agent or my club have not informed me of any interest from the club or offer.
The 27-year-old Nigerian has only played twelve times in the league this season, mostly due to injuries to first-choice centre-half pairing Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata.

Despite Celtic having the best defensive record in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, conceding just 16 goals, the team have leaked goals recently to Hearts and Motherwell – resulting in the Hoops dropping points and giving Aberdeen a chance to catch them.
Due to Ambrose’s form, Celtic have been linked with a number of defenders recently, including Eibar’s Aleksandar Pantic and Falkirk’s Will Vaulks.
