Before every Celtic match, Read Celtic will role-play (not that kind) and give the fans a chance to get involved as well. We will be playing the role of Ronny Deila choosing the starting XI and how they should line-up on the pitch.
It also includes a bit of insight into what we expect from each player and what they can do to make the difference.
Think your XI is better? Tweet @ReadCeltic your XI leading up to the game and you might be picked to have your say on Read Celtic in the future.
Craig Gordon
After missing Sunday’s cup tie through suspension, Craig Gordon will retake his starting place from Logan Bailly in the starting XI.
Mikael Lustig
At right-back, stand-in captain Mikael Lustig will retain his place in the team.
Efe Ambrose
Efe Ambrose will likely keep his place in the team at centre half, even though Dedryck Boyata is available after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Jozo Simunovic
Alongside the Nigerian will likely be Jozo Simunovic who continues to grow in to the role at Celtic Park. There are clear signs of improvement in his ability on the ball and his confidence to advance forward into midfield and pick a pass.
Kieran Tierney
Kieran Tierney will likely take up his familiar role at left-back for Celtic.
Callum McGregor
Callum McGregor should start in defensive midfield after getting another assist on Sunday. Nir Bitton suspended after being sent off against Partick Thistle and will miss the game. The academy product can go quiet in games at times but has that bit of quality when needed over the last number of games.
Stefan Johansen
Stefan Johansen should start again after being the best midfielder on the field against Stranraer. Albeit a league one side, he was the notable midfielder over the 90 minutes and hopefully (I’ve said this every week) can get back to the form he showed last season.
Kris Commons
On the right wing Kris Commons should start despite a fairly in effective afternoon on Sunday. He’s one of Celtic most creative players and should continue to flourish coming in off the right wing to the middle like he’s done almost all season.
Scott Allan
In the number 10 role, Scott Allan should be given a start after picking out the pass of the game in the short period he was on the field to Leigh Griffiths. Give him a start against a struggling Dundee united side alongside Commons and he’ll flourish.
James Forrest
James Forrest should start on the left wing to give Celtic some width and pace in their attack to complement Allan and Commons’ passing prowess.
Leigh Griffiths
The lone striker Leigh Griffiths will hope to continue where he left off on Sunday after scoring twice, and could have scored more if it wasn’t for Max Currie in goal for Stranraer.
