Hampden Hoodoo struck again for Celtic as Ross County advanced to the Scottish League Cup final.
Celtic burst into life and took the lead after just 27 seconds through Gary Mackay-Steven.
The winger scored twice last weekend and got on the end of Leigh Griffiths’ squared pass to give the Hoops an early lead.
Griffiths could have made it two a minute later but his first touch let him down as did the poor playing surface.
Ronny Deila’s men continued to create chances and Efe Ambrose has two chances from Callum McGregor’s corners but it was his play at the other end of the pitch that changed the game.
A needless foul inside the box gave the referee no choice but to award a penalty and a red card on 13th minute and Martin Woods stepped up and converted from the spot.
Craig Gordon was fouled for Ross County’s second goal just after half-time but the referee did nothing.
The Staggies killed the game off with a third goal as they will now play Hibernian in the League Cup final.
Griffiths had the chance from the penalty spot to turn the game around but saw his shot saved.
Here are the player ratings from today’s game.
Johansen at 6/10 you aren’t serious
He was a 2 at best
Position sense none whatsoever
Runs about like a headless chicken leaving gaps all over the centre of midfield
First touch atrocious
Constantly trying to play passes he doesn’t have the ability to make
Never plays a decent pass it’s always either behind the man or to his standing foot never to space or to the opposite side of where the defender is marking a team mate
Astounds me that this is even a professional footballer never mind a Celtic player and plays in front of someone of Scott Allan’s talent
Good assessment..midfield had no energy..Bitton and Armstrong should have been off a lot sooner ..but Deila needs to see this !!!
