Aidan Nesbitt joins Partick Thistle on loan
Celtic youngster Aidan Nesbitt has joined Partick Thistle until the end of the season.
Nesbitt’s loan move to Celtic’s Glasgow rivals was confirmed by Partick Thistle’s website.
The 18-year-old was a hotly tipped prospect in the Celtic ranks and Is expected to be the next youngster to make the leap from the academy to the first-team.
He will join a number of players that have made that leap in recent years including Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor, Eoghan O’Connell, and Liam Henderson who is currently on loan at Hibernian.
Nesbitt has lit up the UEFA Youth League in the green and white Hoops scoring four goals in four appearances.
He will hope to get some regular first-team football udner his belt for the remainder of the season.
The youngster was in action today for Celtic’s development squad and scored twice as they beat Rangers 3-0, the other goal coming from summer signing Ryan Christie.
He made his debut in the Scottish League Cup against Raith Rovers but was only on the field for several minutes.
Thistle were after a creative attacking player after Ryan Stevenson departed to Ayr United and will hope the Celtic academy star will fill that void.
