Aberdeen closed the gap to three points at the top of the table and increased the pressure on Ronny Deila and his future at Celtic.

The Hoops dominated the opening half hour and didn’t allow Aberdeen time on the ball, pinning them in their own half.

Leigh Griffiths looked isolated and only mustered one shot in the first-half which was deflected wide.

A stunning strike from Johnny Hayes from 25-yards gave the Dons the lead and from then on Celtic crumbled.

The home side doubled their lead on 37 minutes, six minutes after their first from a corner kick.

Scott Brown and Erik Sviatchenko were in the vicinity but neither got close to the ball and could only watch on as debutant Simon Church turned the ball into the net from close range.

Ronny Deila brought on Colin Kazim-Richards to replace Stuart Armstrong and go with two strikers but it did little to change the outcome.

The deadline day signing should have seen red after a stamp on a Dons player but was fortunate to escape with just a yellow.

Griffiths scored a great solo goal late on but it was too little too late.

Here are the player ratings from tonight’s game.
