Norwegian youngster Kristoffer Ajer has signed for Celtic but will return to his home nation until the summer.
Ajer will join Celtic on a four-year deal in June, as confirmed by the club’s official website .
The 17-year-old, who has captained his current club IK Start, was also scouted by Paris Saint-Germain on at least four occasions this season – and has 47 appearances, including 13 goals and five assists to date for the Tippeligaen side.
He made the move from Lillestrom SK in 2014, and has gone on to impress a host of European clubs who were keeping tabs on him including Roma, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Having spent a week in Glasgow at Lennoxtown with the first-team in January, the youngster impressed both coaches and his fellow Norwegian Ronny Deila.

His former club IK Start rejected a bid of €2 million for the 6’5 midfielder last season after a successful trial from Serie A side Roma.
His previous contract ran out at the end of this year, and Celtic have snapped up the Norwegian at a cut price believed to be in the region of £600,000 and £800,000.
With talk of the youngster being in the same bracket as Real Madrid player Martin Odegaard, Celtic fans will hope they have a future star player in their grasp.
