Leigh Griffiths and Callum McGregor fired Celtic four points clear but Aberdeen closed the gap to one point again with a win over Kilmarnock.
The Hoops had a few openings in the first half but were limited to shots from distance as Partick Thistle were compact and organised in defence.
Celtic took a well-deserved lead after Gary Mackay-Steven’s terrific cross found Leigh Griffiths, who composed himself before firing the ball at Tomas Cerny, who couldn’t prevent the ball crossing the line.
Mackay-Steven was involved again on 54 minutes as Callum McGregor doubled Celtic’s lead with a cool finish with his right foot having been played through by his fellow Scot.
Partick Thistle were given a glimmer of hope after Sean Welsh converted a penalty with five minutes remaining, but Celtic comfortably held on to earn the three points.
