Ronny Deila believes that Tom Rogic’s head injury isn’t serious after he was withdrawn before half-time.
The Aussie left the field of play with a suspected concussion after Deila felt he didn’t clearly know where he was and took precautionary measures, removing him from the game.
He played a part in Robert’s delicate chip that gave Celtic the lead 10 minutes before half-time but suffered a head injury minutes later after clashing with Juwon Oshaniwa and was replaced by Nir Bitton.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Deila commented on the decision to take him off, saying:
He was dizzy on the pitch and I had to take him off, he couldn’t answer the right questions.
He knew the score but I asked him if we had to change [make a substitution] or not, he shrugged – it is hard for a manager to understand what he is meaning. But we had to take him off. We will see tomorrow (Sunday) but I think it is okay.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been on a hot streak lately, scoring four goals in his last three appearances for both club and country before yesterday’s game.
Unlike last time out prior against Kilmarnock, and prior to the international break, Celtic didn’t require the heroics of Rogic to seal all three points.
Goals from Gary Mackay-Steven and a double from teenager Patrick Roberts gave the Hoops a comfortable victory in the end over Hearts and moved them seven points clear.
It’s unclear whether Rogic will be available to play on Tuesday night when Celtic travel to Dens Park to face Dundee
