Patrick Roberts believes that Celtic would be nothing without the fans after they roared the team on to an impressive win over Hearts.
Manchester City’s loan star scored twice either side of half-time in the Hoops jersey to give Celtic a comfortable win in the end.
The 19-year-old impressed made just his second starts since his move north of the border, but if he continues in a similar vain to Saturday, it will be almost impossible to keep him out of the team.
His Jock Stein-esque one-liner on his appraisal of the fans support will go down well with the Celtic faithful, who have taken a shine to Roberts already.
As quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, Roberts said:
Fans are who you play for. Without them you would be nothing. It is joy to play in front of them and score goals for them and I will try to carry on doing that.
It was a very good three points. My first and second goals – it was a good feeling, especially in front of all those fans.

Roberts also praised manager Ronny Deila for showing faith in his despite his tender age.
Although his transfer from Fulham to the Premier League giants City could rise to £11 million, Roberts isn’t fazed by having to prove his worth at Celtic to the Norwegian.
The manager knows what I can do and I always do my best whenever I am on the pitch.
I trust his judgment. He picks the team and I have to do whatever I have to do.
It is a challenge for everyone, everyone wants to play in the team and be involved.
You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to do that so yes, everyone is competing but it is healthy and good for the club and we are pushing in the right direction.
Celtic are in action again tomorrow night (Tuesday) against Dundee and Roberts will look for an opportunity to impress, having made five appearances since his move in January.
