After Celtic moved eight points clear Ronny Deila was blanked by Mark McGhee, much to the Norwegian’s bemusement.
However the Motherwell manager and Scotland assistant manager has explained why he ignored Deila in the customary post-match handshake.
Feeling aggrieved that he was ignored in the pre-match handshake, he essentially threw the toys out of his pram but spoke to Deila after the incident to clear the air.
As quoted by the Scotsman, McGhee said:
What actually happened was, at the beginning of the game, I felt as if when I went over to shake hands with the Celtic staff they blanked me.
I’ve spoken to Ronny about it and it was a total, 100 per cent misunderstanding on my part, and I accept totally he didn’t see me. That’s fine, and he and I have shaken hands.

Ronny Deila is yet to comment on the incident after the game as he didn’t take part in the media duties following the game.
Celtic came out on top at Fir Park thanks to a double from Leigh Griffiths despite the striker missing a penalty and several other inviting chances in the game.
Conor Ripley put on a stunning performance but it was his mistake which ultimately cost the Steelmen all three points after the ball went through his legs and into the net.
The 25-year-old Hoops striker has 37 goals this season and his latest two have all but assured Celtic’s fifth successive league title.
They will now turn their attention to next Sunday Scottish Cup semi-final tie with Championship side Rangers with the winners facing either Hibernian or Dundee United.
