Ronny Deila gave a positive update on Erik Sviatchenko ahead of this Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
The 24-year-old Danish international went to clear the ball and overstretched his hamstring prompting the physio team to take action and call for a substitution.
Speaking to Sky Sports about Sviatchenko, the Norwegian said:
He has a good chance, but we will see. It’s too early for Erik now. It’s a grade one pulled muscle… so we’ll see.

Sviatchenko has made 11 appearances for Celtic since he signed in January, providing two assists and coming close to his first goal in the green and white Hoops on a number of occasions.
He’s also contributed to Celtic’s defensive improvement which saw them keep seven clean sheets in their previous 10 games until he got injured and conceded just three goals.
The Dane will be hoping to play in his second Cup semi-final as a Celtic player in less than four months against league minnows Rangers.
If he isn’t fit in time, he will join Croatian defender Jozo Simunovic on the sidelines, who will miss the rest of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery several weeks ago in London.
