Mikael Lustig has said that he hopes league minnows Rangers continue their attacking philosophy when they face Celtic on Sunday.
Celtic face Rangers on Sunday in the Scottish Cup semi-final and Lustig is hoping that they can hit Rangers on the counter due to their attacking style of play.
The fullback’s coming forwards can leave space in behind for Celtic to possibly exploit on the counter-attack according to the 29-year-old, which could result in chances and plenty of goals.
Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, Lustig said:
A lot of teams play that way now throughout Europe. They want the full backs to get up there and try to help score goals.
But is it a risk? Absolutely. If you want to play with high full backs then you are always going to be open to counter attacks.

Lustig has said that it is a special game and neither side can afford to make mistakes in what is a massive game for the fans. Although the league standing between the two clubs is quite a gap, there is still a feeling of rivalry between the two sides and both teams will be desperate to win the match.
We will see what happens on Sunday. I don’t know if they will change it. This is a special game, it’s a semi-final, so you can’t just go out and play your normal football.
You need to be a bit more focused as you can’t afford to make stupid mistakes. You always want to play your own football, but, as I say, this is a special game.
The Swedish international has been at Celtic since 2012, making over 100 appearances, some of which have come in high-pressure games in the a tense atmosphere, and he also played against the Championship side in their first ever meeting last year.
