Patrick Roberts has said that he let himself down by passing up a glorious opportunity to score in the game against Rangers.
Celtic were 1-0 down when a strike from Leigh Griffiths rattled the post only to find the feet of Roberts six yards out from goal, but he was unable to find the target from what seemed like the easiest of angles.
Speaking to Herald Scotland, the 19-year-old said:
I felt like I’d let myself down, personally. Any other day, I would put that away. It just wasn’t meant to be today, obviously. I’m just devastated, we all are. That’s it.
With the chance, I should have scored it. There are no excuses for that. Too much time? No, I should be scoring.

The Scottish Cup semi-final tie finished 2-2 after extra-time, and a goal on the half hour mark from the winger on loan from Manchester City may have lifted the team.
Celtic went on to lose on penalties and were knocked out of the Cup by the Scottish Championship side, which was a massive upset for the top flight champions.
Roberts also felt the team were not at their best and the feeling afterwards was “rubbish”.
Looking at the game overall, we weren’t good enough – and that’s why we lost. The atmosphere was exactly what I’d expected, I knew what it would be like. But, right now, it just feels rubbish.
Celtic and Roberts will turn their attention to the league now as they look to get back to winning ways on Sunday against Ross County.
The prospect of winning a fifth league title in a row for just the second time in the club’s history will likely be a bittersweet achievement for fans as a result of how their season has panned out.
