Celtic defender Efe Ambrose could miss the opening weeks of next season after being included Nigeria’s Olympic squad.
According to All Nigeria Soccer, the 27-year-old defender will be included in the squad along with Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel and CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa as the three over-aged players.
As a result of the call-up, should Ambrose still be at Paradise this summer, he could miss the start of the 2016/17 campaign for Celtic.

Having already appeared for his country at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, and winning a silver medal in the process, the 27-year-old will have the opportunity to go one better in Brazil this summer.
The Olympic football tournament begins on August 4th, just two days before the opening day of the Scottish Premiership.
Should Nigeria qualify for the bronze or gold medal match, the versatile defender could miss three weeks of league action.
He could also miss the Champions League qualifiers, should Celtic win a fifth successive league title in the coming game and the opening round of the newly reformed Scottish League Cup, which takes place in late July.
Ambrose hasn’t started for Celtic since the Scottish League Cup semi-final and has played just five minutes in a substitute appearance against Partick Thistle since.
Hopefully he won’t need to worry about…he should be shown the door.HH
