Ronny Deila has explained why Peter Lawwell came into the Celtic dressing room after yesterday’s game and revealed it wasn’t the first time either.

The Celtic chief executive came down to the changing rooms at Paradise following a 1-1 draw with Ross County in front of a hostile crowd who booed the team off at full-time.

Deila, however, played down Lawwell’s appearance in the dressing room after his side moved nine points clear at the top of the table.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:

He spoke to me, not the players. We speak together all the time so it is nothing new. It is not like I am going to quit tomorrow.

I am going to stay here for the rest of the season and do everything to get over the line and perform better than we did today.

Leigh Griffiths bagged his 38th goal of the season in the first half but saw it cancelled out by a long range strike from Stewart Murdoch.

Deila has already announced that he is leaving at the end of the season and the eerie atmosphere at Paradise yesterday will not be how the Norwegian envisioned bowing out of the club.

With a fifth successive league title within touching distance, Celtic could win it if Aberdeen fail to beat Motherwell and Celtic overcome Hearts at Tynecastle.

Only then will Deila, his backroom staff and the team be able to breathe a sigh of relief following a disappointing season.
