Lubo Moravcik says Celtic must do more to rekindle their connection with the fans and build a team to compete in Europe.
Attendances in Paradise have been falling for a number of years now, and the lack of excitement on the pitch is one reason why some fans are no longer willing to pay to watch Celtic.
The Slovakian arrived in Glasgow to snide remarks from some and was completely unknown to Celtic fans in 1998.
However, the fans and club alike respect and adore him for his four-year tenure at Paradise having lit up the field with his unearthly footballing ability.
With the ever growing gap between Scottish football and most European leagues, Celtic need to find other ways to attract talent according to the former Hoops talisman to get the Champions League night’s back to Paradise again.
As quoted by the Herald Scotland, he said:
A lot will depend on that if they are to win the fans back. It’s so important for Celtic fans to see the best teams in Europe playing at Celtic Park and they have to look for that.
It’s always good for the fans to see guys on the bench who have big passion for Celtic. The fans would like to see someone there who has been involved in the club in the past.

I hope that Celtic Park can host some of the big Champions League nights again. That should be the priority for Celtic now.
They have to strengthen because Rangers are back too. It’s not Celtic’s fault that Rangers were out of the league, its Rangers problem – not Celtic’s.
If Rangers were not playing in the Premiership because they had problems with money, it has nothing to do with Celtic.
Moravcik was part of the Celtic side that won the domestic treble in 2001, the last time the club achieved such a feat.
He was in attendance for Celtic’s game on Sunday and saw them stumble to a 1-1 draw against Ross County at Paradise.
Later that night. Moravcik collected a special recognition award at the Celtic Player of the Year Awards.
Celtic are in action again on Saturday afternoon as they take on Hearts at Tynecastle with a win all but securing a fifth successive league title.
So if Lubo, and others turn up and say, this is what we should be doing, ?? anybody that know`s me I have been saying this for a good few years, 4 in fact, certain Celtic minded in the know have said we cannot do that without sevco, I have said thats when we should have been getting stronger not downsizing, ok my voice may not suit OUR MY VIEWS about sevco and media, may not suit, but others say same things, its plastered a lot of times my views sorry most of them never get past the reviewer, so why have we waited till this dead club have came back to haunt us in more ways than one, albiet with the help of the SPFL/SFA, nowhere else in Europe would have allowed this FARCE,

John Fallon………wit?!?
Totally correct from a man who is stepped in Celtic tradition.
John don’t mince your wordd
Are you that John Fallon? I enjoyed your book, you were a great goalkeeper for us, let down only by some lack of concentration at times. When you were kept busy you were the best.
