Former Celtic assistant manager Billy Stark says outgoing manager Ronny Deila faced an impossible task at the club to keep every player happy.
Stark was Tommy Burns’ assistant for a three-year period in the 90’s and believes that whoever comes in this summer must ship out some players.
Celtic are on the verge of winning a fifth successive league title and some of those lifting a winners medal could be axed this summer.
As quoted by the Scotsman, Stark said:
It’s impossible to have over 30 players and keep everyone happy. An experienced boss wouldn’t deal with that number because, these
days, that’s what management is about.
I think Celtic need an established manager. The size of the club means they need an experienced man who knows how to handle a
dressing room.

During his time at Celtic, 23 players have been signed by Deila – many of whom haven’t lived up to the standard that fans demand and expect of players in a Hoops jersey.
A number of players are set to leave the club this summer, including Darnell Fisher, Charlie Mulgrew and Tyler Blackett, as the two former players are out of contract while the latter is returning to his parent club, Manchester United.
Others players will be returning from loans including Aidan Nesbitt, Stefan Scepovic, Anthony Stokes and Nadir Ciftci and players in the current squad could all leave to ease the pressure on a bursting dressing room.
