Ronny Deila says he hopes to return to Paradise very soon to take in the atmosphere he described as “drugs”.
The outgoing Celtic manager will take charge of his final game this Sunday against Motherwell and will lift the league title for a second successive season in charge.
Deila failed to build upon last year’s league and cup double as his side exited at the semi-final of both cups and group stages of the Europa League after losing to Malmo in the Champions League playoffs.
Although fans have been on his back for much of his reign, he lauded their support and hopes to be welcomed back to the club very soon.
Speaking yesterday at his press conference, he said:
When I have time I’ll hopefully come over to a Champions League game and get in the atmosphere again – it’s like drugs.
I fell in love with the country, the city and the club.

I want to thank all the fans. The relationship I’ve had with them has been very good.
I wish them all the best. This club is special and they have to understand that and protect it.
Everyone wants to drag it down and wants us to lose so it’s important to have unity and the players need support.
Celtic’s search for a new manager continues with Brendan Rodgers, David Moyes and Roy Keane all being touted to take over this summer.
With Celtic fans hoping the new manager can bring Champions League football back to Paradise at the first time of asking, Deila will hope to return to watch the side he fell in love with over the past two years.
