Craig Gordon believes that Roy Keane would command the respect of everyone at Celtic Park should he take over the reigns this summer.
The Irishman has remained tight-lipped on a possible return to Glasgow this summer after expressing a desire to return to management again.
Gordon worked under Keane at Sunderland several years ago, and the 33-year-old Celtic ‘keeper would welcome his former boss to Paradise.
Speaking to the Scotsman, he said:
He would absolutely command respect from
everybody for what he’s done as a player and a manager.
Who knows? It’s not my position to tell anybody what to do in regard of when a manager should be appointed or whether it’s this month or after the Euros. If you’re going down that route and it’s Roy Keane, then that becomes a problem.
If it’s not him or somebody else, maybe they could be in the job earlier than that. Maybe, I don’t know, he doesn’t even go to the Euros. But I’m excited and ready for whoever that may be.

The current Ireland assistant manager made 10 appearances in four months for Celtic in 2006, scoring once against Falkirk, but had to cut his time short at Paradise due to a long-standing hip injury.
Ronny Deila has departed Celtic are taking charge of his final game on Sunday as Celtic mauled Motherwell 7-0 at Paradise in a fitting send-off for the Norwegian.
Deila won three trophies during his two-year reign at the Hoops and helped them reach five-in-a-row following a difficult campaign in both Cups and in Europe.
Roy Keane, David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers are all thought to be contenders for the vacant job after Deila left on Sunday.
