Brendan Rodgers says he has identified the weaknesses in the Celtic squad and will now begin rectifying them ahead of next season.
In recent years, Celtic have opted for zonal-marking from set-pieces, something which has led to a number of high-profile errors and cost the Hoops in big European and domestic games.
Rodgers has also gone into overdrive and analysed ever detail in Celtic’s play, including every goal they have scored and conceded, from before he was even appointed as Celtic manager.
As quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, he said:
Since I was appointed I’ve looked at every single goal Celtic have scored and conceded.
I know where there are areas we can improve on and gain. That’s important for us. I probably started doing that a wee bit before I was appointed. I had the idea I was coming.

The recent shortcomings in European football have been widely criticised, and this is one issue Rodgers will look to resolve in time for the Champions League qualifiers that start in July.
Celtic’s performances against Malmo in Sweden, Molde both home and away as well as decisive moments against Fenerbahce and Ajax led to their exit from European football before Christmas.
They fell short last year on a couple of set-pieces. That’s what stopped them going through.
I’ll need to assess things and I’ll need to look. There are some good players here and some young talents.
I can look and identify all I want from a distance. You always have an idea of how to change things and there are one or two players I’ll want to bring in, but I want to look and speak to the players who are here.
Celtic fans unanimously reacted with delight to the appointment, and over 13,000 turned up at Paradise on Monday to show their support for the self-confessed life-long Bhoys fan.
Rodgers’ preference for a small close-knit squad could see a number of players leave Paradise permanently or on loan this summer as he begins an overhaul to help the club compete in Europe and continue their domination in the league.
Send Ambrose and Boyata on 5he next tain out of Glasgow don’t care where .
Delighted that he’s here. But conceding goals from set pieces was Liverpool’s soft center too, which was never rectified and inevitably led to Brendan’s departure, Just saying! It seems his first form of defense is attack. Having said that there is no real leaders at the back for Liverpool then and there is none now. But this is not Liverpool. The fact He watched the Fenerbache game means its clear that taxi for Efe
Same, by not playing Efe, they will eliminate about 40 – 50% of the defensive errors in important matches.
This problem has been with us for years the time to sort it out is now no nonsence.
