After appointing Brendan Rodgers as manager, it was inevitable that some of his former plays would be linked with a move to Celtic – including Joe Allen.
Allen, who played under Rodgers and both Swansea City and Liverpool has been linked with a move to Glasgow, but his agent seems to think that the finances of such a deal might not be feasible for the Scottish champions.
The 26-year-old Welsh midfielder only has one-year left on his contract at Anfield and has admitted that his future is uncertain but his £45,000-a-week wages could price Celtic out of a move.

His agent, Glenn Corcoran, told the Daily Record that the Hoops will need to stump up a lot of cash if they want to attract his client.
He said:
Joe has a year left on his contract at Liverpool and nobody has spoken to us about extending that. The club have not spoken to us about selling him either. I haven’t given any thought whatsoever to it with regards to Celtic or any club.
If Liverpool were willing to sell – and that is a big ‘if’ because I’ve not had that conversation with the club – they would ask for too much money for him. I don’t know if Celtic at this moment would be willing to spend that sort of money and the wages would also be a massive issue.
The Welshman, who will represent his country in this summer’s European Championships, is also being linked with a move back to Swansea but wants to leave any discussions about his future until after the tournament.
