We reported a few weeks ago that Carlton Cole was going to leave Celtic this summer and that has come to fruition, as reported by the Daily Record .
As or editor Ruairi Daly reported four weeks ago, Celtic had put a clause in Cole’s contract which allowed them to release him and they’ve chosen to activate it.
Brendan Rodgers looks certain to bring in more strikers this summer as he’s allowed Anthony Stokes, Colin Kazim-Richards and Cole to depart the club already, and the transfer window isn’t even officially open.

Cole made just five appearances for the Hoops, in four of which he came off the substitute’s bench. In those five games, he was only able to score one goal, and it is not a surprise to see Celtic deciding to let him leave. The 32-year-old will now begin the search for a new club, a search that is likely to see him signing for a club in the English Championship.
