Celtic have made an enquiry to Aston Villa regarding the availability of forward Scott Sinclair, but, contrary to some less-then-reputable reports, they are yet to make a bid to sign him.
According to Gregg Evans of the Birmingham Mail, Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the 27-year-old having worked with him at Swansea City and Celtic have asked Villa about him, but they have not made the £2million bid which other sources had reported.

Roberto Di Matteo has not yet decided if he’ll sell Sinclair as despite his lack of goals in recent seasons, he does have a history of scoring goals in the Championship and Villa will be desperate for a goalscorer to help them get promoted at the first time of asking.
If Villa do sell Sinclair, they’ll be looking for more than £2million anyway, so Celtic will need to be bidding more than the erroneous reports suggest that they have.
