Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is apparently a transfer target for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
According to a report from Michael Gannon of the Daily Record, the German side are willing to pay around £1.5million to take the player from the Scottish champions.
Whilst Ambrose is clearly not part of Brendan Rodgers’ long-term plans, selling him now could leave him short of defenders for the upcoming Champions League qualifiers as both Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata will be unavailable due to injury.

However, Rodgers is looking to bring in at least one centre back in the next few days, with former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City defender Kolo Toure touted as being a target for a free transfer after his contract at Anfield expired.
A problem with a visa could set Ambrose back even further. The Nigerian has not been able to join the Celtic squad at their training camp in Slovenia due to a hold up with the Nigerian authorities.
