As far as player endorsements go, they don’t come much bigger than from one of the greatest players of all time and the current Champions League winning manager.
Well, that man, Zinedine Zidane, has spoken about Celtic’s capture of Moussa Dembele and says that the club have signed a potential star.
Speaking about the signing itself, Zidane says that he knows that some of Europe’s biggest clubs were looking to sign the teenager, so Celtic have done well to get him.
He told the Daily Mail:
He is a very big signing for Celtic. I like to follow the progress of exciting, young French players and I know Bayern, Monaco and Juve were all looking at him.
Zidane also had some kind words for Brendan Rodgers, the man who he thinks will help turn Dembele from a promising young talent to a star player.
He will be playing for a coach who has played a big part in developing some of the best strikers in Europe.
Celtic fans will not have to wait much longer to get to see the former Fulham man in a Hoop’s shirt as Rodgers has confirmed that he will give the player some minutes in Wednesday’s friendly with Olimpija Ljubljana.
