Before Brendan Rodgers’ first competitive Celtic match, we at Read Celtic will role-play (not that kind) and predict the starting XI.
We will be playing the role of Brendan Rodgers for the first time, and choosing the starting XI and how they are expected to line-up on the pitch.
It also includes a bit of insight into what we expect from each player, and what they can do to make the difference.
Celtic have travelled to Gibraltar to face Lincoln Red Imps in the second round of qualifying for the Champions League group stages.
They overcame Estonian side Flora Tallinn in the last round and will provide the first test for Rodgers’ men in a competitive game.
Think your predicted XI is better? Let us know in the comments and you could be picked to have your say on Read Celtic in the future.
Here is our predicted XI for Tuesday evening’s Champions League tie.
I’d play Mikael Lustig at right back. And Patrick Roberts instead of Christie. I’d also be tempted to replace Allen with Callum McGregor. Basically, we’ve moved the SPL’s leading goalscorer and Player of the Year out of position for this new ‘whizz kid’ signing from Fulham. Ronny Deila will be watching with great interest!!!
