Celtic are considering the possibility of making a player-plus-cash offer to Blackburn Rovers in order to capture Shane Duffy, as per a report in the Derry Journal.
Apparently, Brendan Rodgers is willing to send James Forrest to Ewood Park, along with a transfer fee, in order to get a deal for the Republic of Ireland international over the line.
The need for a centre-back in Celtic’s squad is glaring with Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata currently out injured and Efe Ambrose looking short in terms of the quality needed to play in the Champions League.

Duffy looks to be the player who Rodgers has identified as the man who he wants to bring in, but the Irishman is also attracting interest from Premier League sides Swansea City and West Brom.
Forrest is far from guaranteed a place in Rodgers’ side and it looks like the new boss could be ready to use him as a makeweight to get a deal done.
