Player ratings: Celtic 2-1 Hearts (A)

Scott Sinclair gave Celtic all three points on his debut with just nine minutes remaining on the opening day of the season.

James Forrest gave Celtic the lead on eight minutes after the ball fell invitingly from Callum McGregor’s run at the Hearts defence and he curled the ball into the bottom left corner.

On 36 minutes Hearts equalised from a very soft penalty scored by Jamie Walker after he dived to win the penalty.

Leigh Griffiths had two good chances to score in the opening 45 minutes but skewed his first attempt on target from 20-yards wide and hit a lobbed attempt wide following some poor defending.

Moussa Dembele was fairly anonymous in the first half, but was much better in the second and could have given Celtic the lead on 67 minutes.

After some neat football on the counter attack the ball was crossed by Forrest to the 20-year old, but was denied his second Celtic goal by a brilliant block from John Souttar.

Sinclair made a 70-yard run to get on the end of Griffiths cross to give Celtic the win.
