A five-star performance from Celtic saw them progress to the quarter-final of the League Cup at Paradise.
They took the lead through Tom Rogic after Callum McGregor played a delicate ball in behind the defence to the Aussie, who fired the ball into the top corner after 20 minutes one day on from penning a new three-year deal with the club.
Moussa Dembele doubled the Hoops’ lead from the penalty spot on 33 minutes after Scott Sinclair was too quick for his opposing defender and was pushed over inside the area.
Rogic and Sinclair could have made it five or even six in the opening 45 minutes, only to be denied by the Motherwell ‘keeper, Craig Samson, who made a number of good saves from Celtic’s main threats in quick succession and throughout the game.
Brendan Rodgers side continued to pile on the pressure in the second-half and Sinclair found the net with a lovely curled effort on 61 minutes, with Dembele adding a fourth three minutes later.
Rogic added a fifth to get a brace in the game with 15 minutes to go in the game.
