Brendan Rodgers has told the board the number of players as well as who he wants, as he revealed in his post-match press conference last night.
Celtic demolished Motherwell at Paradise, with summer signing Moussa Dembele scoring a brace and Rodgers’ most recent acquisition Scott Sinclair getting on the scoresheet once again.
One day on from signing a new three-year deal, Tom Rogic added two more goals in the game, as the Hoops put in a five-star performance.

Speaking in his post-match interview with BT Sport, Rodgers said:
I would want two [more players], in order to get us a lot closer to where I want us to be as a team. I feel there’s two positions on the field that will make a big difference for us in terms of how we are working at the moment.
If I can get two more in that the club know I want and they’ve been great in trying to get the types of I want. If I can get that before the window shuts then we’ve had a really really good market and then we’ll be ready for the rest of the season.

Following his comments, Rodgers could be eyeing up players for numerous positions including the centre of midfield, a goalkeeper and at right-back in order to strengthen the side further.
After last night’s win, Celtic were drawn at home to Championship side Alloa in the quarter-final of the League Cup, with the tie expected to be played in midweek on September 20th or 21st.
Rodgers side won’t be in action this weekend in the league unlike the rest of the Scotland, as they travel to Ireland to play their final game of the International Champions Cup against Inter Milan in Limerick.
However, all preparation will likely be geared towards next Wednesday’s Champions League play-off tie at Paradise against Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
