Emilio Izaguirre is wanted by a German side as they look to bolster their defensive options as their domestic season gets under way.
The 30-year-old Honduran international was thought to be leaving Celtic in the summer after what seemed like an emotional farewell against St Johnstone and Motherwell back in May.
According to Sky Sports, Werder Bremen are keen to acquire the left back’s services before the window closes at the end of the month.
Izaguirre currently has just under a year remaining on his current contract and has been limited to just one start under Brendan Rodgers against Motherwell.

Celtic did receive and offer for Izaguirre in the January transfer window from Getafe, however, it didn’t meet their valuation of the 30-year-old.
Since he joined in 2010, Izaguirre has made 236 appearances in the green and white Hoops, scoring five goals and providing 45 assists.
His exceptional performances when he first arrived led to him being named the SFA Players’ Player of the Year due to his outstanding performances for Celtic.
Can’t see Izzy going there. He loves being a Celt. He’ll play plenty football under Rodgers too. Be very surprised if he went.
